CBN ORDERS BANKS TO REFUND =N=2BN TO CUSTOMERS OVER CHEATING

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has disclosed that it has ordered financial institutions to refund amount totalling N2billion to customers who had been cheated in one transaction or the other.
The governor of the CBN, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, disclosed this on Thursday in Abuja on the occasion of the 2011 World Consumer Rights Day.
Sanusi, who was represented by a director in  his office, Mr Olufemi Fabanwo, observed that  many business outfits were in business because the consumers were there to patronise them, noting that any business outfit  that allowed the interest of consumers to wane had invited doom to itself.
Stressing  that the interest of consumers must be taken care of at all times, Mr Fabanwo said the apex bank had over the years ordered financial institutions to refund the sum of N2 billion to consumers who were cheated in one transaction or the other.

N.B. Nigerian banks make their money through dubious means. Always be careful when you are doing one transaction or the other with Nigerian banks.
