15 cancer symptoms women ignore

Women tend to be more vigilant than men about getting recommended health checkups and cancer screenings, according to studies and experts.

They’re generally more willing, as well, to get potentially worrisome symptoms checked out, says Mary Daly, MD, oncologist and head of the department of clinical genetics at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.

But not always it has emerged! Younger women, for instance, tend to ignore symptoms that could point to cancer. “They have this notion that cancer is a problem of older people,” Daly tells WebMD. And they’re often right, but plenty of young people get cancer, too.

Of course, some women are as skilled as men are at switching to denial mode. “There are people who deliberately ignore their cancer symptoms,” says Hannah Linden, MD, a medical oncologist. She is a joint associate member of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and associate professor of medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Seattle. It’s usually denial, but not always, she says. “For some, there is a cultural belief that cancer is incurable, so why go there.”

Talking about worrisome symptoms shouldn’t make people overreact, says Ranit Mishori, MD, an assistant professor of family medicine at the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. “I don’t want to give people the impression they should look for every little thing,” she says.
With that healthy balance between denial and hypochondria in mind, WebMD asked experts to talk about the symptoms that may not immediately make a woman worry about cancer, but that should be checked out. Read on for 15 possible cancer symptoms women often ignore.
1 Unexplained Weight Loss
Many women would be delighted to lose weight without trying. But unexplained weight loss — say 10 pounds in a month without an increase in exercise or a decrease in food intake — should be checked out, Mishori says.
“Unexplained weight loss is cancer unless proven not,” she says. It could, of course, turn out to be another condition, such as an overactive thyroid.
Expect your doctor to run tests to check the thyroid and perhaps order a CT scan of different organs. The doctor needs to “rule out the possibilities, one by one,” Mishori says.
2 Bloating
Bloating is so common that many women just live with it. But it could point to ovarian cancer. Other symptoms of ovarian cancer include abdominal pain or pelvic pain, feeling full quickly — even when you haven’t eaten much — and urinary problems, such as having an urgent need to go to the bathroom.
If the bloating occurs almost every day and persists for more than a few weeks, you should consult your physician. Expect your doctor to take a careful history and order a CT scan and blood tests, among others.
3 Breast Changes
Most women know their breasts well, even if they don’t do regular self-exams, and know to be on the lookout for lumps. But that’s not the only breast symptom that could point to cancer. Redness and thickening of the skin on the breast, which could indicate a very rare but aggressive form of breast cancer, inflammatory breast cancer, also needs to be examined, Linden says. “If you have a rash that persists over weeks, you have to get it evaluated,” she says.
Likewise, if the look of a nipple changes, or if you notice discharge (and aren’t breastfeeding), see your doctor. “If it’s outgoing normally and turns in,” she says, that’s not a good sign. “If your nipples are inverted chronically, no big deal.” It’s the change in appearance that could be a worrisome symptom.
If you have breast changes, expect your doctor to take a careful history, examine the breast, and order tests such as a mammogram, ultrasound, MRI, and perhaps a biopsy.
4 Bleeding in-between period or other unusual bleeding
‘’Pre-menopausal women tend to ignore between-period bleeding,” Daly says. They also tend to ignore bleeding from the GI tract, mistakenly thinking it is from their period. But between-period bleeding, especially if you are typically regular, bears checking out, she says. So does bleeding after menopause, as it could be a symptom of endometrial cancer. GI bleeding could be a symptom of colorectal cancer.
Think about what’s normal for you, says Debbie Saslow, PhD, director of breast and gynecologic cancer at the American Cancer Society in Atlanta. “If a woman never spots [between periods] and she spots, it’s abnormal for her. For someone else, it might not be.”
“Endometrial cancer is a common gynecologic cancer,” Saslow says. “At least three-quarters who get it have some abnormal bleeding as an early sign.”
Your doctor will take a careful history and, depending on the timing of the bleeding and other symptoms, probably order an ultrasound or biopsy.
5 Skin changes
Most of us know to look for any changes in moles — a well-known sign of skin cancer. But we should also watch for changes in skin pigmentation, Daly says.
If you suddenly develop bleeding on your skin or excessive scaling, that should be checked, too, she says. It’s difficult to say how long is too long to observe skin changes before you go to the doctor, but most experts say not longer than several weeks.

6  Difficulty swallowing
If you have difficulty swallowing, you may have already changed your diet so chewing isn’t so difficult, perhaps turning to soups or liquid foods such as protein shakes.
But that difficulty could be a sign of a GI cancer, such as in the esophagus, says Leonard Lichtenfeld, MD, deputy chief medical officer at the American Cancer Society.
Expect your doctor to take a careful history and order tests such as a chest X-ray or exams of the GI tract.
7 Blood in the wrong place
If you notice blood in your urine or your stool, don’t assume it’s from a hemorrhoid, says Mishori. “It could be colon cancer.”
Expect your doctor to ask questions and perhaps order testing such as a colonoscopy, an exam of the colon to look for cancer.
Seeing blood in the toilet bowl may actually be from the vagina if a woman is menstruating, Mishori says. But if not, it should be checked to rule out bladder or kidney cancer, she says.
Coughing up blood should be evaluated, too. One occasion of blood in the wrong place may not point to anything, Mishori says, but if it happens more than once, go see your doctor.
8Gnawing abdominal pain and depression
Any woman who’s got a pain in the abdomen and is feeling depressed needs a checkup, says Lichtenfeld. Some researchers have found a link between depression and pancreatic cancer, but it’s a poorly understood connection.
9  Indigestion
Women who have been pregnant may remember the indigestion that occurred as they gained weight. But indigestion for no apparent reason may be a red flag.
It could be an early clue to cancer of the esophagus, stomach, or throat.
Expect your doctor to take a careful history and ask questions about the indigestion before deciding which tests to order, if any.
10 Mouth changes
Smokers should be especially alert for any white patches inside the mouth or white spots on the tongue, according to the American Cancer Society. Both can point to a precancerous condition called leukoplakia that can progress to oral cancer.
Ask your dentist or doctor to take a look and decide what should be done next.
11 Pain
As people age they seem to complain more of various aches and pains, but pain, as vague as it may be, can also be an early symptom of some cancers, although most pain complaints are not from cancer.
Pain that persists and is unexplained needs to be checked out. Expect your physician to take a careful history, and based on that information decide what further testing, if any, is needed.
12 Changes in the lymph nodes
If you notice a lump or swelling in the lymph nodes under your armpit or in your neck — or anywhere else — it could be worrisome, Linden says.
“If you have a lymph node that gets progressively larger, and it’s [been] longer than a month, see a doctor,” she says. Your doctor will examine you and figure out any associated issues (such as infection) that could explain the lymph node enlargement.
If there are none, your doctor will typically order a biopsy.

13 Fever
If you have a fever that isn’t explained by influenza or other infection, it could point to cancer. Fevers more often occur after cancer has spread from its original site, but it can also point to early blood cancers such as leukemia or lymphoma, according to the American Cancer Society.
Other cancer symptoms can include jaundice, or a change in the color of your stool.
Expect your doctor to conduct a careful physical exam and take a medical history, and then order tests such as a chest X-ray, CT scan, MRI, or other tests, depending on the findings.
14 Fatigue
Fatigue is another vague symptom that could point to cancer — as well as a host of other problems. It can set in after the cancer has grown, but it may also occur early in certain cancers, such as leukemia or with some colon or stomach cancers, according to the American Cancer Society.
15 Persistent Cough
Coughs are expected with colds, the flu, allergies, and sometimes are a side effect of medications. But a very prolonged cough — defined as lasting more than three or four weeks — should not be ignored, Mishori says.
You would expect your doctor to take a careful history, examine your throat, check out your lung functioning and perhaps order X-rays, especially if you are a smoker.

Tearful Jolie gets Sarajevo Film Festival Award

Angelina Jolie was close to tears as she received the Sarajevo Film Festival award
Reuters
Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie was close to tears as she received a special award during an unannounced visit to Sarajevo's film festival Saturday with partner Brad Pitt.
"I will start crying if you don't stop," Oscar-awarded Jolie told the audience who gave her a standing ovation at the city's National Theatre.
Jolie chose Bosnia's 1992-95 war as the setting for her first film as a director. "In the Land of Blood and Honey" is due to be released in December.

She has also visited Bosnia as a goodwill ambassador for the U.N.'s refugee agency UNHCR and funded the construction of several houses for returnees in eastern Bosnia.
Festival director Mirsad Purivatra presented Jolie with a heart-shaped award when she appeared at the closing ceremony.
"Tonight we are giving the honourary Heart of Sarajevo to a great artist, not only for the great impact she has in the world of cinema but also for persisting and her active engagement in the complexities of the real world we live in," Purivatra said.
Jolie, dressed in a long peach dress, stood on stage with eyes full of tears waiting for the clapping to die down.
"I told Brad in the car I was afraid I was going to cry," she said, her voice breaking.
Jolie's film tells the story of a love affair between a Bosniak (Bosnian Muslim) woman and a Serb, who were on opposite warring sides during the conflict.
She planned to shoot parts of the film in Sarajevo and engaged a local crew. But she had to move to Budapest after some female victims of sexual violence objected to details in the plot and Bosnian authorities cancelled a filming permit.
"I am so honoured to be here at this festival," Jolie said after receiving the award. "There is no greater example of the strengths of the artists and the festival that began during the war and grew stronger every year."
The Sarajevo film festival was launched towards the end of the Bosnian capital's 43-month siege by Bosnian Serb forces.
Jolie presented Austrian actor Thomas Schubert with the award for the best actor for his role in the film "Atmen," directed by Karl Markovics.
Atmen, about a young offender searching for his mother, was also named best film in the festival.
Romanian actress Ada Condeascu won the prize for best actress for her role in the film "Loverboy."

Angelina Jolie: My Kids Learn About Each Other's Cultures

Angelina Jolie and some of  her kids
PEOPLE
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have maintained a nomadic lifestyle with their six children over the years, but the kids have strong connections to their own cultures, Jolie reveals in a new interview.

The actress, 36, who adopted three of her children – Maddox, 9, from Cambodia; Pax, 7, from Vietnam; and Zahara, 6, from Ethiopia – and gave birth to Shiloh, 5, in Namibia, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 3, in France, makes sure her kids know where they came from.

"They are all learning about each other's cultures as well as being proud of their own," she tells theFinancial Times.

"So it's not like just the boys get to do the Asian thing. They all have their flags over their beds and their individual pride."

Of course, keeping up with their international visits is a challenge. "We owe Vietnam a visit, because Pax is due," she says.

"Z wants to get back to Africa, and Shiloh too. So everyone takes their turns in their country."

Royals Celebrate Zara and Mike's Wedding

Zara Phillips and her new husband Mike Tindall's official wedding photo in Holyrood Abbey
Sky News
Senior members of the royal family have been celebrating the wedding of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall at a lavish palace reception.
Zara wore a gown created by the favourite designer of her grandmother, the Queen, as the couple was married at a private ceremony in Edinburgh's Canongate Kirk.
Despite being billed as a private wedding, the royal nuptials still had the air of a national event - with England rugby star Tindall and Zara , a former equestrian world champion, proving a big draw for the public.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were among the congregation but this ceremony was never going to be on the scale of their huge Westminster Abbey wedding, watched by a global TV audience of hundreds of millions earlier this year.
More than 6,000 people outside the Edinburgh venue were treated to the spectacle of senior members of the monarchy and leading figures from the world of sport.
All eyes were on the bride, who wore an ivory silk gown by designer Stewart Parvin, as well as a traditional veil and tiara.
The well-wishers lining the Royal Mile gave an enormous cheer as she arrived to reveal the dress by the British, Edinburgh-trained designer.
In a tribute to Scotland, the bride had thistles in her bouquet of white blooms.
There had been speculation that Tindall, 32, might don a kilt but he and his best man, fellow England player Iain Balshaw - who was sporting a black eye - opted for traditional morning dress.
The royal bride, 30, had talked before the wedding of how she was looking forward to becoming Mrs. Tindall, but she will remain Zara Phillips to preserve her sporting name.
Wedding guests included famous names from the world of rugby such as England's coach Martin Johnson, his predecessor Sir Clive Woodward and Scotland's coach Andy Robinson.
Tindall also invited Lawrence Dallaglio and Jonny Wilkinson - former teammates who, like the groom, were part of England's World Cup-winning squad of 2003.
A touch of glamour was added by some famous women from sport and entertainment - skeleton racer Amy Williams, television presenter Kirsty Gallacher, Una Healy, a singer with girl group the Saturdays, and Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly.
Amongst the other royal guests were the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall. Also in the congregation were Prince Harry, the Duke of York and his daughters Princess Beatrice and Eugenie.
The royal women put on a colourful display of big hats and dresses with bold hues while the royal men looked smart in morning suits.
Taking pride of place during the ceremony was Zara's mother the Princess Royal and father Captain Mark Phillips and Tindall's mother Linda and father Phil.
The wedding reception was staged in the grounds of Holyroodhouse. Music from the celebration could be heard in the streets around the royal residence.
The Queen and Duke were expected to stay for the cutting of the wedding cake and probably a number of speeches before leaving the younger royals and guests to party into the night.
But the traditional honeymoon break will be postponed as the newlyweds will be back at training this week. Zara will be competing in the Gatcombe Park horse trials later this week and Tindall is likely to feature in an England rugby match against Wales next Saturday.

Schwarzenegger Celebrates Lonely 64th Birthday

Arnold Schwarzenegger looked forlorn as he celebrated turning 64 today with a bike ride in Santa Monica, California
Daily Mail
Arnold Schwarzenegger turned 64 yesterday, but the former California governor must surely be reflecting on his 63rd year and what a mess it was.
He took to his bike to go for a ride around Santa Monica, California with a couple of friends in a low-key start to his special day.
Dressed casually in a white T-shirt and grey shorts, the father-of-four looked like he has been taking his stress and frustration out at the gym and looked in pretty good shape.

Troubled time: The former California governor has had a eventual few months after it emerged he fathered a child out of wedlock with his housekeeper
In the past few months, Arnold has gone from an outgoing political figure ready to resurrect his acting career to a cheating husband emerged in scandal.
Meanwhile, although his popularity has waned in the U.S. his home country of Austria still love him.
A small museum has opened in the town he grew up in that is dedicated to his career as a bodybuilder, actor and former California governor. The father-of-five will not be there for the opening but a grand event will be held at a future date when he can attend.
The museum is housed in the yellow two-story house where Schwarzenegger grew up and the exhibit includes his first set of training weights and the desk he used while serving as governor between 2003 and 2011.
Yesterday, Maria went out shopping with her two sons in Los Angeles - maybe to buy their father a birthday present as she is said to be keen for her children to continue to have a close relationship with him.

Cheeky Gaga leaves little to the imagination in a pair of see-through tights

Forget your skirt Lady Gaga? Cheeky singer leaves little to the imagination in a pair of see-through tights

By Daily Mail Reporter

Last updated at 12:15 AM on 30th July 2011

She has never exactly been shy when it comes to showing off her assets.

And last night Lady Gaga was at it again in a pair of see-through tights and a black bra top as she greeted a throng of screaming fans outside the Jimmy Kimmel Show.

The singer's flesh coloured underwear showed through her tights which she teamed with a pair of spiky black lace up boots.

Keen to thank her 'little monsters' the performer took time to wave and shout at the crowd before dramatically scaling a metal fence to sign autographs and shake hands with some of her followers.

The 26-year-old star wore a black headpiece by milliner Philip Treacy with 'Gaga' spelled out in feathers during her appearance on the late night talk show.

Gaga wore a black jacket with shoulder pads at the start of her interview but halfway through ditched it to reveal a lacy vest.

She later changed into a black leotard with shoulder and leg attachments to perform her new single You And I and The Edge Of Glory, much to the delight of the audience.

She sang more songs in an outdoor concert for 2,000 fans. Police had earlier warned fans without tickets to stay away from the event, fearing it could get out of control.

Clearly shocked at some of her fashion choices, Jimmy Kimmel asked how she came up with ideas for her costumes.

He joked: 'What becomes of the costumes? Do you take care of them after? Are they sent to Africa to be worn by villagers there? Is there a museum, is there a big storage unit?'

The busy star said she had built a recording studio in her tour bus so she could cut tracks while on the road.

'Sometimes [the producers] don't want to,' she said. 'They're like 'Gaga, the frequency's weird, it's sounding a little bit strange'. And I'm like 'If you don't get this right, I swear to Lucifer, I'm gonna. I get a little bit mad.'

Gaga also revealed she is a good cook, and makes fennel gravy for her crew.

'I make it for the producers on the road because they actually follow me on the tour bus,' she said.

'We don't have a kitchen but we'll stop in certain places and by then we've probably had at least a couple of bottles of Jamieson to drink and I just sort of chain smoke and make pasta.'

When asked whether she would ever have children, she said: 'Someday, long, long away from now.'

Kimmel joked: 'If one of your children grew up to be not gay, would you still love that child?'

Gaga said: 'No... I don't even like you.'

DECADES: Best & Worst!

This list is soooo late!! My internet sucks blah blah making excuses blah, okay you forgive me right?? I apologize, truly, it's been a crazy week. No theme for this week obviously, but I will post next week's theme on Tuesday!

20's
SilverLilly8971

Perez: This is by far my favorite flapper, which is saying a lot since there were so many great looks submitted for this era! The splash of color, the gorgeous accessories, and the placement of the fur are just so perfect and really make this outfit stand out from the rest.

Jack: UGH, SO CLASSY IT MAKES ME WANNA DIE. Loving the all black-and-silver image with a splash of red, really splashes some colour onto the scene, le fabuloso!

Dan: Gorgeous, I love it! Perhaps without the purse next time? everything else looks amazing though and I like the flashes of red throughout.

ebonymeme

Perez: This is so cute! Definitely the most fun of the 20's outfits submitted, probably because it was based on a costume, and it's the fun and glamor of the 1920's that makes the flapper such a popular and iconic costume to begin with. It was a magical time where fashion, music, and even the American economy blossomed, before it all went to shit in the 30's =/

Jack: Such a fun and cute look! Is that a tranny in the reference picture?

Dan: Honestly I think it looks more slapper than flapper, the dress and fishnets looks like standard skank wear. I love the head band though, that's really cute and is my favorite part of the outfit, personally.

-lovely2009-

Perez: Absolutely genius idea to submit this in black and white! It really elevated an already lovely outfit to another level. I love the authenticity, the simple accessories, and the perfect stoic expression on her doll.

Jack: She looks perfect from top to bottom! I also love that she submitted it in black and white, such a classy touch!

Dan: I agree with Perez and Jack, the black and white effect really makes this look classy and authentic. I'd say this is probably the most authentic look, nothing is too much and it just looks perfect.

LoveGossip4life, Almag7607, sethisDOOMED, sko1234

Perez: As I said before, all the flappers were great! Of this group I think the prettiest is Almag7606, but I also love LoveGossip's accessories and the overall style of sethisDOOMED. sko1234's is a little crazy old lady-ish, but I think that's part of its appeal! :D:D

Jack: sko1234 looks a bit over done, but the rest look beaut! Liking the colour co-ordination with LoveGossip4life's.

Dan: I like Almag7606's flapper the most, its goregous and her make up is perfectly done. I agree with Jack that sko1234 over did it slightly but they are all good.

CelebLover44, kitkat91011, Laurenboy

Jack: They all look awkward and unorganized. CelebLover44 looks like she was dragged through the Decades store backwards and the other two look to underdone and messy.

Perez: Yeah that assessment of CelebLover is pretty accurate, she was going for Coco Chanel but it just looks messy and has none of Coco's elegance and style. kitkat's is nice but lacking. Laurenboy looks great in my opinion, I love the layering of the skirts!

Dan: I agree with Jack and Perez on CelebLover, I quite liked Laurenboy's for the same reason as Perez, shame there was no make up. I for one like kitkat91011's outfit, I like the tassles and the head band once again and I think it would have been pretty awesome minus the vile bag.

30's
BellaCullen4210, theloveablenerd, -LimitedEdition, Kimmilee1

Jack: All four of them look elegant-ish and classy-ish, bravo for trying!

Dan: I like them all apart from Kimmilee1. I love the hats they chose and it all looks pretty authentic.

Perez: I adore theloveablenerd's, she looks like she's about to go on a The Mummy-style excavation in Egypt! What a charming 1930's explorer, a lovely and unique choice for this decade! -LimitedEdition as usual looks fabulous, this reminds me of the old Vogue cover that I found for this theme's banner, really elegant and ladylike. I love all the little details, they give it a really special touch. The other two outfits are nice but forgettable. Well Bella's is nice, Kimmi looks ridiculous. I'm fairly certain tube tops were not in fashion in the 30's.

50's
liajm

Perez: She didn't submit 50's Sock Hop Barbie as a reference for her outfit, but it's the first thing I thought of when I saw it! Well the first thing I thought of was Happy Days and the Grease Pink Ladies, then 50's Barbie, but you knowhatImean! It just makes me want to go to a diner and grab a milkshake and sing along with the juke box, I LOVE it!!

Jack: CUTE! 50's Barbie was a superb choice, but a different hairstyle wouldn't have hurt.

Dan: I love it, as Perez mentioned I thought of Grease straight away, the shoe layering is super cute and over all I feel like this is the most fun outfit in the list. Although as Jack said, I wish she had picked a different hair style.

Jean Harlow
Faita_14

Jack: You can't throw on a fur shrug and call yourself Jean Harlow. You gotta WURK IT, and Faita_14 certainly did not.

Perez: I don't know what you're talking about Duckie, this is absolutely stunning! She definitely should have gone platinum blonde and perhaps a different hairstyle altogether would have been better, but it is a gorgeous and well put together outfit. I'm glad she didn't take the easy way out and use the outfit released with the Film Theory collection.

Dan: I disgree with Jack, I would have guessed Jean Harlow if I saw this without a caption and I am glad she didn't go with the platinum curly hair that would have dragged it into the Marilyn Monroe catagory.

Laurenboy, ashleysstar, loveshorses5, hotgirl1501

Dan: loveshorses5 is so lovely and her outfit is stunning, it looks like it's straight out of Hairspray to me. The rest are kind of boring and ashleysstar looks like a farmer...

Perez: I just love how everyone did something different for this decade, different but still completely perfect and relevant. Laurenboy as a bookish school marm in a decade where women were first starting to really take their education seriously and pursue careers, ashleystar as an adorable country cutie who I can totally picture hanging out on the farm with Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, lovehorses5 in the iconic 50's "poodle" skirt ensemble, and hotgirl1501 as a wealthy and elegant widow lol!

60's
PerezStarGossip

Jack: In the words of the very talented Rebecca Black: FUN! FUN! FUN! FUN! How can you not smile looking at this? It's wonderful! Must...move on...cheeks...hurting...

Perez: I've been buying furniture for an Austin Powers-themed room for a while now, and finally I had an excuse to put it all together!

Dan: Fabulous, darling! Perez wins this week hands down.

Jack: Eh....I don't really know why, but my smiles have faded...it's just shit.

Perez: I disagree, I think this is an excellent Edie! The whole outfit was very well thought out, he nailed all the Edie details with the chandelier earrings, fur coat, make-up and hair. I think it's a great outfit and I would have known who he was even had he not told me. (I couldn't find a good picture of Edie in her fur coat, so I had to settle for this shot of Sienna Miller portraying Edie in Factory Girl)

Dan: I agree with Perez that I could have guessed it was Edie. The face and earrings are beautiful, I'm not keen on the outfit but it is very apropriate. Well done.

60's Barbie
waifish

Jack: OMG! I just wanna get up and draw on myself with highlighter pens. It's like a rainbow cried tears of joy onto her.

Perez: LOVE LOVE LOVE!! The jacket is brilliant, I would have liked for her to have filled it out a little more, but seriously such a great idea and the execution of this is killer!!

Dan: What Perez said!
Mad Men
Nextpingugirl

Jack: BORING! -throws popcorn at-

Dan: Yeah, this was an easy one but at least you tried. :]

Perez: Agreed, it is an easy, boring choice, but I never noticed that we had that dress on Stardoll, and she does look good.

Audrey Hepburn
kieshagiesha, lilsha123, musicqueenxx2

Jack: I'm going to have to pick lilsha123 as my winner, based on the fact that she's the only one with sunglasses AND gloves.

Perez: Well Kiesha is also wearing sunglasses and gloves, but I agree lilsha123 is the best Audrey here by far, she looks very posh and elegant. Keisha's is a good effort though, whereas musicqueen's is just awful and not Holly Golightly in the slightest.

Dan: I agree with Jack, lilsha123 wins this one easily.

PrincessMilly_x, Pikandchew13, JuicyC2890, 90210silverBH

Jack: I can do nothing but yawn at these, they're just...buh. PrincessMilly_x's is cute and she looks like a fun hippy!

Perez: Yeah, the only outfit in this group that wows me is Milly's, she looks awesome, totally trippy dippy 60's beatnik, and I love the dress she chose! I'm confused as to why Pikandchew thought the bandana would compliment her mod ensemble.

Dan: I can't really say more than Perez and Jack have, the only one I liked was Milly's.

Twiggy
Alexapie200

Perez: Alexapie200 did submit an outfit but it was nothing special, however what I did love was the recreation of Twiggy's make-up in this shot! Fun idea, very well executed!

Jack: Kind of shitty considering this is a Best DRESSED List, but I guess I can say it's nice and well executed.

Dan: Awesome make-up. Austin is a real dick head though. (Perez Edit: LULZ!!)

70's
Laurenboy, queencutiesoda, Chace.Clarke, ebonymeme

Jack: Laurenboy went all out with the flares, the afro and the one shoulder top, LOVE IT! Can't Chace.Clarke make a crappy outfit? Just for once, you know, for a change?! queencutiesoda (nice nickname) looks really bright and funky! ebonymeme just looks like a nostalgic stripper.

Dan: I love them all, if anyone has seen the movie The Tripper with Jaime King, Lukas Haas and Jason Mewes wouldnt you say they look like the cast? lol

Perez: These were all so good, I think they're among the best of the entire event! Laurenboy's accessories are so perfect, down to the placement of the bangles and the choice of that belt, the bell-bottoms and platforms, you look awesome! queencutiesoda and the always stunning Chace are the coolest hippies ever, you both nailed this look! I love queen's orange jeans and matching fringe boots, and Chace's bandana and awesome little pseudo-fanny pack, I wanna smoke whatever it is you're smoking! Ebony is the ultimate disco diva, she is absolutely fabulous, I love it! For some reason I'm picturing her in a disco roller rink :D:D

Farrah Fawcett
BASHY77

Jack: What is wrong with her face? I fear she is going to mug me and take my Frosties.

Perez: I don't know, nothing about this outfit is really 70's to me. I mean I get that that's what she was wearing and it was in the 70's and it is Farrah Fawcett, but it's just someone on a skateboard in a hoodie and jeans. Not a costume I would choose for a look that helps define the decade.

Dan: I wouldn't have guessed this was Farrah.

Jackie O
BASHY77

Jack: Nice job, but BASHY77 gave herself much bigger breasts than Jackie deserves credit for.

Perez: Same as with her above outfit, with all the awesome 70's looks to choose from this just seems like a boring choice. But she looks lovely and really went into detail matching it to Jackie.

Dan: The dress looked better on Edie Sedgewick :P

80's
ilovebears9

Jack: Not only is she dressed to perfection looking like Cindy Lauper etc. But motherfucking Boy George is with her too! PERFORMING! I cannot hold back these tears you guys.

Perez: Yeah this is awesome, did you Star Design that Boy George? Holy shnitz!! (Jack Edit: The Boy George poster was a custom design made by UndamyUmbrellla)

Dan: Lame outfit, nice Boy George. If the poster was cropped out I doubt Perez and Jack's comments would be as favorable.

vitalstatistick

Perez: Okay I don't know if she meant to base her look on Carrie Bradshaw's 80's flashback outfit from SATC2 because she didn't say so, but if she didn't I'd be SHOCKED because it's nearly identical! Soooo cute, I'm obsessed with it, one of my favorites for sure!

Jack: Great layering work and I love the grunge/pretty girl clash going on. Wonderful!

Dan: I want to watch Sex and the City 2 now, Fantastic outfit which really feels 80's.

rose8971

Perez: Another favorite, I'm so glad someone did an awesome 80's punk rock look! This totally makes me think of the underground London punk scene, she's a total B.U.M.!

Jack:
Oh wow! LOVE this one! It's just oozing with heavy metal and drugs.

Dan: I love this look, even though it is 80's it would easily transition to present day.

greensoccer121, blueberry-dream, coolperson765, Heather, megamaggie6

Jack: Heather (is that it, just "Heather"?) looks kind of like someone who was meant to make a workout video in the 80's, but slipped up when highlighting her hair so called the whole thing off. The others look very mediocre and kind of nice. (Jack edit: Oops! I meant coolperson765. Heather does actually look like she fell off the back of a truck)

Dan: I like greensoccer121 and blueberry-dreams outfits, they look like they could have been in the gym scene in Flashdance working out with Jennifer Beals and Cynthia Rhodes.

Perez: What's your damage Heather?! No really, what's going on here honey, you look like you fell off the back of a truck. Everyone else looks awesome, blueberry-dream and coolperson765 are totally getting Physical with Olivia Newton-John, greensoccer is super fun and cute, and megamaggie is definitely the popular girl in school, she reminds me of a slightly classier Kelly Bundy! :D:D

TrixieDeeLight, Luxury_Magazine, vampire_, mistydonna

Jack: TrixieDeeLight looks like a total glamour tranny and the rest look strange. If vampire_ didn't have so many accessories, she could have pulled it off, but sadly, she suffers from the Dei-sease, an illness where you cannot help but drown yourself in accessories.

Dan: I agree with Jack, although I love mistydonna's outfit too.

Perez: I love Trixie's outfit! He's totally Studio 54! Luxury also looks super 80's glamtabulous, and I love vampire's take on Madonna, awesome highlights and make-up too! mistydonna looks like she's going to an 80's school dance, I love her!

90's Grunge
Cachymakers, queencutiesoda, sayanythingelse

Jack: They all look like hipster bedheads! queencutiesoda should really swat away whatever is attacking her face.

Perez: LOL! Yeah the makeshift cigarette is rather odd, but her look overall is great, in fact all the grunge outfits are awesome! Makes me want to go fish my old Nirvana Nevermind CD out from wherever it is..

Dan: They look like the guys Cher disses in Clueless. 'eww get off of me! urgh as IF!' (Perez Edit: Yes!! The stoners hanging out on the grassy knoll! :D:D Speaking of Clueless, I totally expected there to be at least a few preppy 90's looks a la Cher and Dionne =/)

1999-2000
Undamyumbrellla

Jack: Thank you for the collage of noughtie's fashion Kasia, I also really like the outfit!

Perez: OMG I love this, it just really takes me back to my tween obsession with Alyssa Milano and Jennifer Love Hewitt and just loving their pleather pants, cropped tops, and Claire's accessories!

Dan: Very authentic and Buffy :( <3

2000's
sam.miley, Heather, audreyxbeth

Jack: I love how sam.miley brought along a indie date to match his indie self. Heather looks more plain than a drywall. audreyxbeth; forget camel toe, it looks like you smuggled the whole leg down your hotpants!

Perez: Yeah, I love sam.miley's hipster couple, and I feel like it's a definitive style of this decade, whereas there's nothing really special or singularly 2000's about the other outfits.

Dan: sam.miley win, the rest whhhap whamm

1700-1800's
amy_0202, tumblr, Mary - Riiviera, mango-icecream, Holly Lacey

Jack: Jesus Christ, what is going on down here?! I thought the theme was Decades not CENTURIES?!

Perez: Fair point, well made Jack! But still a lovely effort by these ladies, though I will say that mango-icecream does not look French Revolution or Victorian era at all, and for some reason Mary's makes me think more of a Gone With the Wind Southern belle, but as a whole these outfits are beautiful. I really like Amy and Holly's the best.

Dan: All gorgeous even if they did go a bit off with the theme.
