Suspected wife killer, Akolade Arowolo in Court today.
The order was contained in an advice issued by Mrs. Olabisi Odugbesan, director of public prosecution, and states that the suspect has a case to answer
Part of the advice reads: “the offence of murder is under Section 316 of the criminal code and is reviewed against the suspect. The suspect and the deceased are married couple. Further fact revealed that after the incident the suspect jumped out through the fence with blood stained clothes.
“Post mortem shows extensive injuries from a sharp knife which could not have occurred through self injury. In view of the aforesaid, the office shall prosecute the defendant at the High Court.”

The advice further stated that the suspect should be remanded in prison custody until he is properly charged to a high court.
The counsel to the suspect’s late wife, Mr. Nelson Ekoh, told the court that though he was in contact with the DPP, he did not know if the case has been charged to the high court yet.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Demi Ajayi, adjourned the case till 9 December, 2011, and ordered that the suspect be remanded in prison custody, pending an advice that he has been charged to high court.
Arowolo allegedly killed his wife, Titilayo in their Isolo home in Lagos, southwest Nigeria on 24 June this year.
