Corps Marshal, FRSC, Mr. Osita Chidoka

No fewer than 18 persons were burnt to death in an auto crash in Tafa on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway in Niger on Tuesday.
The spokesman for the Niger State Police Command, Mr. Richard Oguche, confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria in Minna.
Oguche said that irate youths protesting against the accident burnt a police patrol vehicle and the Federal Road Safety Commission office in the area.
He said the 18-seater bus, which was conveying the passengers from Lagos to Kaduna, ran into an abandoned articulated vehicle parked by the roadside. All the passengers and the driver were burnt beyond recognition.

He said the police officers drafted to the scene were trying to remove the burnt corpses to Suleja General Hospital, when a man known as Abdulkassim mobilised the youths to attack the FRSC officials in protest against the accident.

PS : May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace. Our govt. need to do something about all these articulated vehicles that are being parked on the road. In some cases the vehicles usually block one lane
of a double lane road, there causing traffic gridlock.
