Nigeria intelligence agency, the State Security Service, SSS in an unprecedented move on Sunday placed a N25 million ransom on one Mamman Nur, a leader of Boko Haram Islamic militant sect it had earlier declared wanted as the mastermind of the 26 August bomb attack on United Nations building in Abuja wanted.
Some of the suspects arrested in relation to the attack were arraigned in court last Friday. The agency also released the picture of the wanted suspect.
In a statement signed by Marilyn Ogar, its Assistant Director of Public Relations also directed anyone with information on how the Boko Haram leader can be arrested to report to the nearest military formation, police station or any other security agency .
The full statement reads: “ Following the bombing of the United Nations (UN) build Sing on 26th August, 2011 in Abuja by Boko Haram, which claimed about twenty three (23) lives, Mamman NUR was identified as the mastermind and security agencies subsequently declared him wanted. “Attached herewith is a picture of Mamman NUR. “He is still declared WANTED.
“A reward of twenty five million naira (N25,000,000=) is being offered for information that could lead directly to the apprehension or conviction of Mamman NUR. “ If you have any information concerning this person, please contact the nearest Police Station, Military formation or any other security agency”.
