Touring the country for months on end is undoubtedly gruelling.

So it is understandable that on a rare day off, superstar singer Rihanna would want to kick back and have some fun with her friends.

The What's My Name hitmaker did just that today as she knocked back a few drinks with her girlfriends at the poolside cabana of her hotel.

The 23-year-old showed off her curves in a blue bikini and a white mesh cover up and went for a natural look with bed head hair and no make-up.

Rihanna was pictured having a laugh with her friend at the bar as she held a bottle of Don Julio tequila in her hand.

She also stopped to chat to a fan who approached her and enjoyed some lunch by the pool, according to onlookers.

Tomorrow night it's back to work for the star as she resumes her tour with a performance at the Bank Atlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale.

It will be a busy month for Rihanna as she plays dates in North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia and Boston, before heading to the UK to play the V Festival in August.

And that's just her performing commitments.

It was announced this week that Rihanna has been signed as the new face of Emporio Armani's lingerie line.

Tennis player Rafael Nadal has also been signed but it is not yet known if the pair will be starring in the same campaign.

Rihanna is already a darling of the beauty industry and has been the face of Cover Girl cosmetics since 2007, and she recently signed a deal with Nivea.

The songstress also fronts the Vita Coco brand, coconut water popular with celebrities.
