6 die as bus plunges into kano dam

Kano-Tragedy struck on Kano- Gwarzo highway, yesterday, when a passenger bus plunged into Fada Dam, killing no fewer than six persons.The cause of the crash could not be ascertained, but one of the survivors told Vanguard that the ‘’rickety vehicle’’ had a tyre burst and then crashed into the dam.The Toyota Litace bus with number-plate XA 438DTF which was travelling from Dandume, Katsina State, was carrying nine passengers.The survivor, Malam Kamal Dandume, told newsmen  that he swam to safety, while two of his relations got drowed in the dam.A female passenger was among the six dead bodies recovered by local divers before the arrival of fire fighters.One person was still missing even as local divers were intensifying efforts to recover the body from the dam.Dandume stated that ”only three persons escaped death as two others jumped out the vehicle,’’ adding that God saw him through.
