It was drama weekend, at Ogombo Ajah area of Lagos, when three men suddenly ran out of a Hyundai Tucson jeep and scampered in different directions, without anyone pursuing them. Few minutes after that, the reason for their action was discovered. They were kidnappers who had abducted a woman and her four children around Ajah. They were reportedly taking their victims to an unknown hideout when they stumbled on policemen at a check point along Epe.

Apparently thinking the policemen had gotten wind of their misdemeanor, they fled, leaving their victims inside the operational Jeep with registration number r DE 751 LSD .
Having waited for sometime without seeing any of the abductors, the abducted woman identified as Mrs Falodun, out of fear, reportedly lowered the tinted glass before opening the car from outside. Confused about the whereabout of her abductors, she reportedly jumped out of the car with her children of ages 12, 9 and 6 and made for the check point where she narrated her ordeal to the policemen.
When the vehicle was searched, the policemen and victims were startled at the recovery of nine magazines loaded with two 240 rounds of 7.62mm caliber ammunition, sixteen rounds of .9mm caliber ammunition, including chains with padlocks
However , investigation, according to the Lagos State Police Command, had begun to ascertain the true owner of the jeep. So far, Crime Alert gathered that no one had come to claim its ownership at the State Criminal Investigation Department where detectives were said to have been on the trail of the kidnappers.
