Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a brief kiss in front of delighted crowds on the Buckingham Palace balcony after the royal wedding.
The newlyweds sealed their union as they appeared on the balcony alongside their families at 1.25pm, before an RAF flypast.
Prince William and Kate Middleton smiled nervously as they waved to the thousands of wellwishers who had gathered outside the Palace gates.
For many of the hundreds of thousands of well-wishers gathered below the famous balcony, the kiss was the royal wedding moment they had waited for.
For the Prince and his bride, the romantic gesture is likely to become one of the defining images of their wedding day.
When the groom's parents Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer married on July 29 1981, their kiss became one of the most enduring images in royal history.
