Adeboye cautions politicians against wasting lives

LAGOS — GENERAL Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye yesterday urged Nigerian politicians, especially those instigating violent protests in the northern parts of country to deceit from wasting innocent human lives.

Pastor Adeboye also called on losers in the just concluded series of elections which have been adjudged by local and international observers to be free, fair and credible, to submit to the will of God, adding that politics is no longer a do-or-die affair, just as the erstwhile academician refused to throw his weight behind calls for the dissolution of the NYSC scheme.

Adeboye made this assertion through the Assistant Pastor-in-charge of the National Headquarters parish of the church in Ebute-Metta, Lagos, Pastor Goke Aniyeloye, during a press briefing on the forthcoming special prayer session with pregnant women and expectant mothers which is scheduled for Sunday at the national headquarters of the church in Ebute-Meta, Lagos.

Adeboye advised Nigerian politicians to learn to accept defeat and work with those that are victorious at the election for the overall development of the nation, stressing that nobody gets to the place of authority without the approval of God.

According to the General Overseer, no man can do anything against the truth, but everything can be put in place for the establishment of the truth. The man of God also used the opportunity to congratulate  those who won at the various elections, urging them to ensure that they redeemed the entire mandate that they promised the masses.

Asked if he would support the dissolution of the NYSC scheme following recent violent attacks on members in parts of the North, Pastor Adeboye said he would not support the notion that the National Youth  Service Corps should be scrapped due to the various crises.

While sympathising with the bereaved families, Adeboye urged the Federal Government to handle the issue with maturity by bringing those who are perpetrating evil in the northern parts of the country to face the law.

The special service for pregnant women, expectant mothers and al those believing God for the fruit of the womb is expected to commence at 8.00 a.m.
