Fascinator and how to wear

Prior to the wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince Williams , the head piece known as facinator was not a must have trend. However, the Allure team brought the fascinator to national limelight, when we featured it at the Allure Style Icons Award, which took place at The Mornach at ABC , Victoria Island, Lagos.

Little did we know that it would be the head piece of choice at the Royal wedding of
Prince Williams and his lovely bride.
What it is

A fascinator is a hair decoration that is a popular wear for women attending formal events such as weddings and horse racing events. Mostly worn in Britain and Australia, fascinators have also been popularized by American celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, who wore one to the premiere of the “Sex and the City” movie. Fascinators are made from beads, ribbons and feathers and can be attached to headbands, combs or clips.
Follow these tips to wear a fascinator with style.1. Decide where you want to place the fascinator. If the fascinator is on a headband, then your choice of placement is limited. If it’s on a comb or clip, then you can place it wherever you want. However, it will look best placed to one side of the head or at the back. If you put the fascinator right on top of your head, you may look like feathers or flowers have sprouted from the crown of your scalp.
2. Backcomb the part of the hair where the fascinator will go.
3. Place the fascinator in your hair.
4. Spray around the fascinator with hairspray, being careful not to get too much spray on the fascinator itself.
5. Use some bobby pins on top of the comb or clip if you want to guarantee an extra-strong hold.
