Assassins kill octogenarian

Asaba-AN 84-year-old community leader has been murdered in a farm in Aniocha, Delta State.  The man identified as Pa Tongo John was said to be the oldest man in the village.
Vanguard gathered that the suspected assassins allegedly trailed the old man to his plantain plantation,  where they  inflicted severe matchete cuts on him. He reportedly bled to death.
The incident happened at Abah-Uno in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State. State Police Command’s spokesman, Mr. Charles Muka, told our reporter, yesterday that  “the man’s body was  recovered from the bush.”

Similarly,  a group of armed robbers reportedly killed a market woman in Asaba, yesterday, along Asaba/Ebu/Illah road.
The robbers had waylaid the market women on their way to Ebu  market and shot the woman dead, including the driver of the cab, who had attempted to escape.  No fewer than eight other traders were wounded and robbed.
