The Saturdays light up Oxford Street by flicking the switch, but Frankie is still absent

All we want for Christmas is Frankie! The Saturdays light up Oxford Street by flicking the switch, but fifth member is still absent

Their smiles weren't giving anything away as The Saturdays turned on the Oxford Street lights minus fifth member Frankie Sandford.

It was business as usual as the quartet lit up the iconic London street with cheers from the waiting crowd braving the cold as they chanted for the pop princesses.

They joined Toby Anstis and U.S. duo The Pierces, who have already made a name for themselves in their native America and are trying their luck to win over an army of UK fans.

As Una Healy, Rochelle Wiseman, Mollie King and Vanessa White flicked the switch, they kept warm in winter coats, teasing fans that they would remain covered up during their performance.

But the girls whipped off their jackets to reveal plenty of flesh to sing new single My Heart Takes Over, with Mollie, 24, daring to bare in a festive glitzy basque and a pair of thigh-skimming shorts.

Mother-to-be Una, 30, showed off the slightest hint of a bump, although her silhouette still looked svelte despite expecting her first child with Ben Foden in 2012.

She was preparing for the event by gushing on Twitter this morning, saying: 'So excited to be turning on the Oxford Street Christmas Lights with @tobyanstis later on today, such an honour. X'

Despite the absence of Frankie, the girls are hardly slowing down over the festive period.
This month they are scheduled to start rehearsing for their upcoming All Fired Up tour which starts on December 2 in Bournemouth and they are also preparing to release third album On Your Radar.

Frankie, 22, was admitted to hospital in October, and although reasons were unclear, a spokesperson insisted the treatment had nothing to do with drugs, alcohol or cosmetic surgery.
Writing on her Twitter page today, Wayne Bridge's girlfriend said nothing of the Oxford Street extravaganza, simply saying: 'Just got my lovely little godchildren some beautiful clothes from @KlassMyleene for there birthday! I love Internet shopping.Cutest outfits!'

Rochelle Wiseman dons a bloodied dress for her Halloween outing

Been through the wars Rochelle? Miss Wiseman dons a bloodied dress for her Halloween outing

Last updated at 6:24 PM on 31st October 2011

She had left band mate Vanessa White's birthday party looking a little worse for wear the previous night.

But Rochelle Wiseman's sleepy eyes on Saturday were nothing compared to her ravaged appearance the following evening.

In fairness however, the effect was intentional, as the Saturdays star had dolled herself up in deliberately gory fashion for the Dolce Parties Halloween bash.

Quick recovery? Rochelle had looked tired when she left her Saturdays bandmate Vanessa White's birthday party the previous night
Been through the wars? Rochelle Wiseman rocked a 'bloodied' gingham dress for the Dolce parties Halloween event at the No5 Cavendish club last night

The 22-year-old arrived at Soho's No5 Cavendish club in a gingham dress spattered with fake blood, carrying a large teddy bear who also looked like it had been in the wars.

She complemented her dress with a sexy pair of knee-length white socks, which she teamed with high black heels.

To complete her child-like look, Rochelle made her cheeks rosy with circles of scarlet face paint, and curled her hair into long ringlets.

Though Rochelle's overall appearance was very effective, it appears that her costume was a last minute affair.

According to her Twitter page, the star had originally intend to dress up as a murdered chef', until her plans went awry.

'I bought my Halloween outfit today for a lil party with my girlies, but they are all dressed pretty hot and I'm gonna be covered in blood...' she wrote.

'I'm going as 'hells kitchen' the murdered chef! Shock my outfit had something to do with food lol'

There were definitely a few doubts surfacing as the party drew closer however, as Rochelle later added: 'I bet everyone will be dressed up as playboy bunnies or hot devils and I'm a 'bloody chef' quite literally! Oh dear'

And it seems her dress rehearsal proved the final straw, as her final word on the idea was: 'Oh so the cook idea is no more it looked AWFUL!!!!!!'

Making an impression: Jessica Wright dressed up as a sexy cheerleader for the Dolce party- though her bloodied neck was a festive touch

Rochelle was probably relieved that she'd changed her outfit when she saw what a few other guests were wearing.

George Lineker's date for the evening was dressed in a saucy red silk ensemble, showcasing her long legs.

And TOWIE star Jessica Wright wore a pink cheerleader outfit, showing off her assets with a plunging neckline- making her appropriately bloodied neck all the more visible.

Never one to miss a party, Jessica's brother Mark turned up as an ashen-faced zombie, with tawny gold highlights in his usually dark hair.

It'll be straight back to work for Rochelle today however, as the Saturdays start rehearsals for their upcoming All Fired Up tour which starts on December 2 in Bournemouth.

They are also getting prepared to release their third album, On Your Radar at the end of November.

The Saturdays sport miserable faces amid reports a two-year hiatus is on the cards

Something you want to tell us, girls? The Saturdays sport miserable faces amid reports a two-year hiatus is on the cards

They've become a huge pop success since they broke on to the scene three years ago both in their professional and personal lives.

But the Saturdays didn't look like they had much to be happy about as they left their manager's office last night looking very miserable.

However, with rumours abound that the girls are to take a two-year break at the end of their upcoming tour, their long faces would explain a lot.

Cheer up, Una, you're going to be a mummy! The Saturday's Miss Healy, who announced last week that she was pregnant, leaves her manager's house looking blue amid reports the girl group are set to take a break

Una Healy, Mollie King and Vanessa White sported glum faces as they left the the house in London and silently made their way home.

Vanessa seemed to be the most upset as she pulled her hoodie right over her head and kept her head down as she clutched a 2012 Saturdays calendar.

And when asked by the photographers if she was looking forward to her two years off, she wouldn't comment and kept quiet as she walked past.

Mollie cuddled close to her poodle Alfie close to her and wouldn't raise a smile and she and her pet pooch climbed into her car.

And Una, who announced last week that she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Ben Foden, got straight into her car without a word.

She opened a CD - which turned out to be Nicola Roberts' solo debut album - and put it on before she drove away, not looking up at the cameras.

Frankie Sandford and Rochelle Wiseman were not seen, possibly having left early or not made it to their manager's place at all.

It came as a surprise to see the girls look so down, especially as they always have sunny dispositions and always have a smile or a cheeky face to pull for the cameras.

Let's go home, Alfie: Mollie, who usually flashes her winning smile for the cameras, couldn't even raise a grin as she and her dog got into her car

But it might have something to do with rumours that emerged yesterday that the girls are planning to take a two-year break once they have completed their All Fired Up tour in December.

According to fansshare.com, the hiatus will last at least two years which may have been prompted after Una announced she was pregnant.

Rather than go on without her, some of the group are believed to be interested in pursuing solo work, just like girl band before them Girls Aloud.

But according to the website, the Saturdays are insisting that they will get back together again once the time is right.

It was her first performance with The Saturdays since she announced she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Ben Foden.

But Una Healy didn't show any sign of toning down her stage outfits, as she performed with her bandmates wearing a sexy leather corset and sheer black skirt.

The 29-year-old singer looked as slender as ever as she delighted fans with the performance, her corset hiding her ever-growing baby bump.

Una, who was singing with The Saturdays in celebration of Arthur's Day in Dublin, Ireland, announced earlier this month that she and England rugby player Ben will soon be starting a family.

And Una's Saturdays bandmate Rochelle Wiseman has revealed the singer is so far 'sailing through' her pregnancy.

She said: 'Una's been so lucky, she's kind of made the whole process seem easy.

'All those women out there who have struggled through their pregnancy will be like "I hate her" because Una's sailing through.'

But the flame-haired mum-to-be confessed strong smells were making her a bit queasy.

She said: 'So far so good. Smells are a challenge though - if I smell something that's not great, I just start going "Ugh".'

Meanwhile, the rest of The Saturdays - who surprised fans with an acoustic set in a Dublin pub before performing at the Guinness Hopstore - insisted they weren't feeling broody just yet.

'Una hasn't even given birth yet, so let's just leave that to Una for now,' Rochelle said.

Bandmate Frankie Sandford added: 'We'll get to play with (Una's baby) when it's happy and when it cries we'll get to give it back.'

The Saturdays have a rapid make-under heading home in comfy clothes after looking glam at GQ Awards

Not so Fired Up? The Saturdays have a rapid make-under heading home in comfy clothes after looking glam at GQ Awards

They stepped out onto the red carpet looking polished to perfection and sporting seriously stylish looks.

But while The Saturdays wowed at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards ceremony they weren’t in the mood to stick around for the after-party.

Rochelle Wiseman, Una Healy, Frankie Sandford, Vanessa White and Mollie King were quick to exit the plush bash heading for the May Fair hotel.

And within minutes the band emerged following a quick make under stepping out in the day-to-day clothes.

Frankie emerged from the hotel covered up in a pair of jeans, knee high boots, a leather jacket, a red leopard print scarf and was carrying a black Hermes Birkin bag.

And while the singer still had her red-carpet ready make-up on her ensemble was a far cry from her glamorous asymmetrical LBD which boasted a dipping back and ruffled detail which she teamed with a pair of sparkling silver sandals.

Mollie, who had also opted for a little black dress which she had teamed with bright pink lips and peep toe Louboutins, emerged from the hotel in jeans and a Lavish Alice blouse.

Una Healy had opted for a daring and different look at the GQ Awards in a sparkling black and pink dress with cut out neckline and piping detail.

The Irish singer emerged from the hotel in a floral blouse and jeans as she headed for home carrying the goody bag, which contained a whole host of men’s grooming products.

But after a quick dress down post-party she headed for home in balck and white checked skirts and a leather jacket.

Vanessa White had stepped out in a supershort black dress with grey patterned detail, a wide waist belt and Aldo heels, teaming her ensemble with dramatic purple lips.

Only Rochelle, who had showed off her wild side in a plum leopard print dress by Dolce and Gabbana which she had matched with a pair of dramatic heels and dark vampish lips remained in her awards ceremony attire to make the journey home.

While the girls didn’t stay at for the after-party, which is likely to be down to their busy promotional schedule for their new single All Fired Up, they nearly didn’t make it at all.

The girls were waiting for their outfits at the May Fair hotel earlier in the evening but with the clock ticking down the singers were told their ensembles had been sent to their record label in Kensington instead.

The Saturdays look glum days after V Festival performance is slammed

Not so fired up? The Saturdays look glum days after V Festival performance is slammed

When you've got money, fame and beauty, you'd think there wouldn't be anything to be sad about.

But the Saturdays - except for Frankie Sandford - looked glum as they headed to a London studio yesterday, covering their faces and not cracking their usual bright smiles.

The girls, who are all a fan of Twitter, may have been reading the negative comments on the site about their performance at V festival at the weekend.

Vanessa White even told photographers that she doesn't like being famous, joining fellow girl band member, Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding, who revealed earlier this year she didn't like the attention that comes with fame.

Rochelle Wiseman, 22, hit back at critics of the band during their set at Weston Park, Staffordshire on Saturday.

She said: 'Obviously, being a girl group we get a lot of stick and people say we can't sing live and that we mime.

'So we like to prove them wrong.'

But the comment has sparked a flurry of comments on Twitter.

One user said: 'The irony when The Saturdays say "people say we can't sing live" during their worst vocal performance to date... cringe #vfestival'

Another was more colourful, saying: 'I wanted to see the highlights of Pendulum not the f****** saturdays, they can't sing for s***.'

Rochelle had another reason for not cracking her usual bright smile yesterday - she said on Twitter she had a 'really sore throat'. And she was seen carrying a bottle of red vitamin water, in the hope it would make her better.

Mollie King had mocked her bandmate the day before saying: 'Uh ohhh I'm recording next to old big lungs @RochelleTheSats! Pipe down woman!! Xxxx'

The pretty blonde, 24, looked at the ground as she left the studio yesterday.

But she didn't let her guard down when it came to fashion, donning sky-high heels, a summery blue dress with a brown belt and aviator sunglasses.

She even brought along her beloved toy poodle Alfie, carrying him in one hand and her favorite Balenciaga bag in the other.

And a usually done-up Una Healy went for a more causal look and appeared to be making a statement with her printed vest which read 'Eh?'

The 29-year-old paired it with a pair of tight-fitting beige trousers and white flip flops.

Una yesterday shared her excitement about the band's upcoming album, which is yet to be named.
She said: 'Back in the studio today finishing up some tracks, the album is shaping up nicely :)'
She added: 'So good to hear you love our b-sides mostly written by ourselves, lots of Saturdays penned songs on this next album were so excited about!x'
Frankie, 22, brought the smiles for the group and even shared a fashion faux pas with her Twitter followers.
She said: 'Managed the whole day in white jeans and with Alfie and didn't get anything on them! Put some make up on and all went wrong! Doh!!'
She paired the trousers with a green printed shirt and brown heeled boots.
