Making people around you uncomfortable with your smell
By Sherese Ijewere
Body odour also known as B.O – is the smell of bacteria on the body.  An individual's body odour is also influenced by diet, lifestyle, gender, genetics, health and medications.
The most common body parts that are associated with body odour include – hair, ear, armpit, groin, genitals, pubic hair, feet, skin and bellybutton.

Common causes of body odour –
  • Poor Hygiene
  • Sweating
  • Alcohol
  • Smoking
  • Diet that includes refined foods – cakes, breads, sugar, sodas , chips etc
  • Prolonged illness
  • Diseases – kidney, liver
  • Stress
  • Skin problems
  • Weak or slow metabolism
  • Meat eaters
10 Simple Home Remedies –
Dirty Armpit
  1. Taking a bath up to three times a day
  2. Drinking water in the morning upon rising and throughout the day
  3. Applying ½ cut lime directly to arm pit or baking soda
  4. Using white vinegar to rinse arm or putting on a piece of cotton to clean bacteria from arm
  5. Putting a cap of rose water in bath water while rinsing body
  6. Prepare a homemade deodorant with the juice of about two dozen radishes and 1/4 teaspoon glycerin. Mix the liquids well and pour into a spray-top bottle. Spray this in the armpits to fight body odour. Remember to store it in fridge.
  7. Washing and rinsing clothes – wearing clean clothes.
  8. Wearing deodorant – make sure label says deodorant and not antiperspirant – as antiperspirants block your pours and sweat ducts – thus leading to boils under the arm.
  9. When wearing body sprays – make sure you read ingredients and know what they actually are.
  10. Perfumes can be put directly on clean clothes and not directly on the skin as the skin is porous – anything put on the skin goes directly into the skin and in the body.
