'I think I've been in LA too long': Cheryl Cole dons fake Botox-style lips as she pokes fun at plastic surgery culture

'I think I've been in LA too long': Cheryl Cole dons fake Botox-style lips as she pokes fun at plastic surgery culture

She's determined to fit in with the LA crowd, but Cheryl Cole may have gone one step too far.

The Girls Aloud singer's lips appeared to have swelled almost 10 times their normal size - well that's what she'll have you believe anyway.

The cheeky star posted a photo of her donning fake Botox-style smackers on her Twitter page.

Getting lippy: Cheryl Cole tweeted this hilarious picture of her sporting massive smackers, quipping: 'I think we've been in LA too long.. LMHO!!'

The photo was taken as the star reclined on a white pillow, wearing a checked shirt and a massive pair of ray Ban-style sunglasses, her dark hair loose.

Cheryl added a joking message, addressed to her assistant Lily England.

'I think we've been in LA too long.. LMHO(Laughing My Head Off)!!,' she wrote.

Cheryl, 28, was poking fun at Hollywood's obsession with plastic surgery.

She has said she doesn't understand why people have nose jobs.

'I can't get my head around everyone having the same nose, because I think it's the unique things about your face that make you beautiful.

'I'm not judging, but unless something is really getting you down, it's best not to mess with nature.'

In fact Cheryl appears to be settling in well across the Atlantic, recently launching her own shoe line and reportedly having a number of other projects in the works, including recording songs for a new album.

Her friend Simon Cowell famously axed her from the U.S. X Factor this year but she appears to be in good spirits.

Cheryl has really taken to the social networking site in the past few weeks, often updating her status and posting funny pictures.

She made a Twitter account earlier this year but did not tweet for months.

Cheryl is reportedly ready to put herself back on the market again, following her divorce from England footballer Ashley Cole.
According to Now! magazine she dubbed the Chelsea star 'the midget' because of his 5ft 9in stature.
'When she was speaking to [her manager] Will.i.am recently, Cheryl told him she's on the lookout for someone,' a source said.
'He said he had the perfect guy in mind who's a producer in the States - but he was a bit short.'
The insider added: 'She laughed and said: "I don't want another midget like Ashley!" They both burst out into hysterics.'

'Me and alcohol are not friends!' Cheryl Cole tweets regret after 'too many bubbles' on drunken night out with will.i.am in London

'Me and alcohol are not friends!' Cheryl Cole tweets regret after 'too many bubbles' on drunken night out with will.i.am in London

She's had a difficult few months after being fired from the X Factor USA and trying to re-establish her reputation.

So Cheryl Cole can definitely be forgiven for letting her hair down on a rare night out with manager will.i.am.

The 28-year-old singer looked slightly worse for wear in a picture she posted on her Twitter page which showed her clutching a bottle of champagne and holding her finger up in a rude gesture to the camera.

Cheryl expressed her regret over the photograph and her drunken antics by tweeting this morning: '
I just walked past the mirror and caught a glimpse of someone.. I have no idea who she is..'

She then added: 'That's it.. Me and alcohol are not friends..', before continuing: 'Too many bubbles :(.'

The Girls Aloud star was later seen heading home after an eventful evening, struggling to keep her eyes open as she sat in the back of her car with friends.

Earlier in the evening, Cheryl had looked polished as she posed for photographers at the HTC and Beats Audio party at London's Roundhouse.

The Promise This singer went for an edgier look for her evening out, teaming a pair of skintight leather trousers and an unusual face-print top.

Cheryl accessorised her look with pointed black court shoes, lashings of red lipstick and teased her hair into waves to complete her new image.

She had earlier posted a picture of herself at the event, with the caption: 'I'll be rocking them BEATS! Yup yup yup yup!'

The words are from the Black Eyed Peas track Boom Boom Pow.

And Cheryl wasn't the only star to share pictures of the occasion on Twitter as will.i.am, who headlined the event, later tweeted followers to a shot of the pair posing up together.

He wrote: 'Me and little miss tweety bird :)'

Cheryl and her manager will.i.am have been working hard together on the Girls Aloud star's second album in New York.

And it was recently reported that the record is set to include a track with teen sensation Justin Bieber, after will.i.am spoke to Bieber's manager Usher about the possibility.

A source told the Daily Mirror: 'Cheryl is beyond excited about her new album and Bieber’s team are deep in talks with hers to make a hit… they already see Cheryl and Will.I.Am as part of the family.

'Will’s got a vision for her album, and now the biggest and the best names are keen to be part of it.

'Usher and Will got together to make 'O.M.G' – just think what they could do with their protégés.'

Earlier in the day, will.i.am had tried to dispel rumours the band was breaking up.

It may have had something to do with the Black Eyed Peas pulling out of the Michael Jackson tribute concert in Cardiff, just days before it is due to kick off.

He said: 'Why do people listen to rumors..."Me and @apl_de created the peas"...so...from the creators mouth...We are not breaking up...stop the rumors.'

Cheryl and will.i.am were joined by stars including Lady Gaga at last night's event, who pushed the boat out for the occasion in another crazy outfit.

The 25-year-old sported a Cousin It-style dress and hat made of jet black hair, pairing the wig dress with fishnet stockings and a pair of towering heels.

'Nothing would have stopped me': Fearless Cheryl Cole says she was ready for anything in Afghanistan, even being held at gunpoint

Last updated at 12:50 AM on 4th October 2011

Cheryl Cole has admitted that she was frightened by the training she received before her trip to Afghanistan but she revealed that nothing would have stopped her traveling to the middle east to boost the morale of British troops.

The 28-year-old singer went on the visit to British troops last month and says she was prepared for the worst - including having a gun held to her head.

She braved the dangers of war to spend time with troops in the treacherous Helmand Province.

Cheryl, who was followed by the Daily Mirror as part of their Pride Of Britain awards, revealed to the newspaper: 'Before I went out I was given war training which was pretty full-on and quite scary.

'They warn you about coping with all kinds of scary scenarios - things like having a gun put to your head.

'I was warned before I went out there that it could be dangerous. But nothing was going to stop me from going. And I'm just so glad I did.'

The former X Factor judge took part in a demonstration by 42 Commando Royal Marines conducting a compound clearance followed by a casualty evacuation via a Chinook helicopter.

She said that she had never experienced so much dust in her life after the helicopter came in to extract the casualty.

Cheryl also spent time with members of the Afghan national army, as well as our own British troops.

She added: 'Afghanistan was an unbelievable experience. The whole trip was incredible. The men and women I met out there were inspirational, and so amazingly brave and dedicated.

'I've stayed in touch with some of the troops through Twitter and they've been sending nice messages. It was a privilege to see what goes on out there.'

Cheryl also revealed she had exchanged numbers with one soldier and was planning to call him.

She said: 'Not only are the soldiers incredibly brave, a few were also incredibly cute. I came back with a phone number.

'He started chatting to me - I think it was for a dare - after I'd been 'shot' during a training exercise. It wasn't real ammunition but it was still terrifying.

'I think I'll call him this week and we'll see what happens. I'm sure he's not expecting me to ring but that's why it'll be funny - and that's why I'm going to do it.'

She travelled to Helmand Province to mark 10 years of British operations in the country.

Cheryl boarded a troop carrier plane at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire for a 12-hour flight in the middle of last month, having previously undergone hostile environment training to prepare her for the trip.

On the way to Afghanistan, Cheryl made herself useful on the flight, serving drinks and dinners of sausages and mash to her fellow passengers, who were flying out for a six-month tour.

Once in the Helmand Province, Cheryl was given her own army fatigues and took part in a mock gun fight, which she deemed 'terrifying'.
She added: 'I went into the room and heard an explosion.
'It was scary. I was terrified. I'm not ashamed to say I screamed and uttered a few expletives.'

Task Force Helmand chief, Lt Col Tim Purbrick, told the Daily Mirror: 'Cheryl was not afraid to get her shoes dirty.

'When everyone heard she was coming we did not know what to expect as she’s a huge star.

'But whatever preconceptions we had went out of the window as soon as we met her.

'Her smile is infectious, she was up for doing everything we suggested. She was like one of the lads.'

Cheryl added: 'I always had admiration for what the guys do out here, but seeing them here at work is awe inspiring.

'I'm delighted to be here to recognise all the hard work they do. Every one of them is a hero in my book.'

One solider said of Cheryl's trip: 'She's a stunner and having her out here has lifted morale.

She's probably the biggest star to visit. Fair play to her, it's a dangerous place to come.'

Cheryl Cole dazzles in a pink Victoria Beckham dress as she makes her red carpet return at Pride Of Britain Awards

Looking Posh! Cheryl Cole dazzles in a pink Victoria Beckham dress as she makes her red carpet return at Pride Of Britain Awards

She's been a notable absence from the London celebrity social scene since her unceremonious firing from X Factor USA five months ago.

But tonight, Cheryl Cole made a dazzling comeback to the red carpet as she arrived at the Pride Of Britain Awards in a stunning dusky pink gown... by her old friend Victoria Beckham.

With her blonde curly long bob and floor-length gown, the 28-year-old singer looked a world away from her previous Girls Aloud image of brunette hair and mini skirts.

Her decision to wear a Beckham dress comes as a surprise given her comments about Posh's fashion range two years ago.

In a 2009 interview with The Guardian, Cole dismissed Beckham's dress collection as for 'older women' and 'not something Girls Aloud would wear'.

But perhaps now at the age of 28, Cole considers herself 'old' enough to wear Beckham's critically-acclaimed gowns.

Ahead of the star-studded ceremony, Cole admitted she was feeling anxious about posing on the red carpet.

She tweeted: 'How can I still be nervous about red carpets after 10 (sic) years.. Eeek!

Before arriving at the Grosvenor House Hotel ceremony, Cole asked her Twitter followers to help her choose what earrings to wear.

Cole was attending to present a special award after flying to Afghanistan last month.

Speaking about her trip, she said: 'I was warned before I went out there that it could be dangerous. But nothing was going to stop me from going. And I'm just so glad I did.

'Afghanistan was an unbelievable experience. The whole trip was incredible. The men and women I met out there were inspirational, and so amazingly brave and dedicated.'

Supporting Cheryl at the awards were her Girls Aloud bandmates Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts.

Like Cole, Roberts went for a girlie pink Luisa Beccaria number, while Walsh had the sex factor in a plunging black Blugirl by Blumarine maxi dress.

Aside from the worthy award winners, the night played host to another meeting between Cole and her X Factor replacement Tulisa Contostavlos.
