She is a well-established actress and is fast-becoming a shining star on the musical stage so who could blame Selena Gomez for enjoying a much-deserved day off.

The Disney star was seen enjoying a relaxing day at Palm Beach in Florida lounging around with a friend.

Selena, who celebrated turning 19 with her boyfriend Justin Beiber last week, was dressed in casual attire for her beach jaunt in a pair of light denim shorts and a grey T-shirt with a rose print and cut out back detail.

The singer, who has been tipped to play Charlotte in the Sex And The City prequel, enjoyed her ocean view as she indulged in a spot of rest and relaxation ahead of her performance tonight.

The beautiful brunette is playing with her band Selena Gomez and The Scene at Mizner Park Amphitheatre on her We Own The Night tour to promote their album When the Sun Goes Down.

On Sunday night Selena was joined by her boyfriend on stage as she performed in The teen Costa Mesta, California.

The stunning brunette performed her hits in a dark pink sequinned frock and pair of flats and was surprised when Justin jumped up midway through the performance.

After giving his girlfriend a big bear hug, he then proceeded to sing an acoustic version of Justin Timberlake's hit song 'Cry Me A River' and also performed his own hit, 'Favourite Girl'.

Following the show, proud Justin later tweeted to his fans: 'Had a #greatnight and surprised the people. felt good to be on stage. nothing is changing that. #REAL. @selenagomez u did great tonight. proud of u.'

Feeling tired? Selena was seen removing the sunglasses from her head and rubbing her eyes

And the 17-year-old showed just how much he cared for his girl on her birthday on Friday, tweeting a picture of him kissing her on the cheek to his army of fans.

The fact that Justin posted the snap of on the public social networking application, which is seen by thousands of his fans, is just another indication as to how much he cares for his older girlfriend.

Selena had a ball as she was treated by Justin to a rather large shopping trip at the 'happiest place on earth', during her special day.

The couple browsed one of Disneyland's many merchandise stores, picking up an array of items, before spending several hours in the theme park itself.

Selena is being hotly tipped to star in the new SATC film alongside the likes of Blake Lively as Samantha Jones, Emma Roberts as Miranda Hobbes and Elizabeth Olsen as Carrie Bradshaw.

The proposed project is set to focus on Bushnell's two novels, The Carrie Diaries and Summer And The City (published this year) which track the four individuals in their teenage years and early twenties before they become a united female front in New York.
