Mr. Dimeji Bankole Former Speaker of Nigeria's House of Representatives Dimeji Bankole, facing trial for mismanaging funds meant for parliament, was this morning granted bail by Justice Donatus Okorowo of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
But he was rearrested within the court premises by operatives of the anti-graft agency - the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He is to be arraigned at a Federal Capital Territory High Court for another alleged mismanagement of funds. In the course of investigation, the EFCC discovered that Bankole obtained another 12 billion naira loan on behalf of the House of Represenbtatives three days to his exit from office.
He will be arraigned in this latest case alongside his former deputy Mr. Usman Nafada
