COME Friday, June 10, 400 years of the King James Version, KJV, of the Holy Bible will be celebrated globally.
To celebrate the milestone, the West Africa Theological Seminary, WATS, in conjunction with the Bible Society of Nigeria, BSN, will organise a two-day Bible conference and exhibition scheduled for Lagos, Enugu, Abuja, Kaduna and Port Harcourt.
Men of God from various Christian denominations are expected to assemble for the event.
The King James Version Bible is reputed as the only book in the world that has sold over one billion copies. KJV Bible, according to Rev. Gary S. Maxey, founder of West Africa Theological Seminary, was first published in 1611 and is the most distributed book worldwide.
Continuing, Maxey revealed that activities marking the event include celebrating the Bible which, he explained, is the same thing as celebrating God, adding that the celebration will bring national revival in Nigeria.
Rev. Maxey said: “Celebrating the Bible, God’s word is the same as celebrating our God. This programme, among others, is to honour and glorify God for giving us the word of life. It is also our expectation that the programme will give birth to a national revival in this country.
“This is why we have been mobilising Christians all over the country to join us to make a joyful noise to our God.”
He also spoke on the impact of Bible translation on the African culture.
